Here comes the sun

It has been sunny lately and Noah and I enjoyed the outside today. We watched daddy fix the gutters and relaxed in our chairs on the patio.
Just the beginning, Noah baby. Many more days to come enjoying the outside.

16 Weeks, Rantings of Prego on #2

Hi,
So yeah. I am pregnant, again.
It was a surprise, but a good surprise. Not what I had in my plan book and it took me a little bit to get over the shock but now it is so great.
So without further ado...

Things I have noticed in this pregnancy than in the first:

1. I don't obsess about everything. I still worry about some things but I am not freaking out over every little cramp or ache.
2. I haven't cracked a book on pregnancy. I should but by this time with Noah 2 almost 3 books were read. Yep and if there was a baby blog, I was on it.
3. I am eating what I want... Ok, this isn't so different, but I haven't gained as much as I had with Noah so far. I probably will gain it later on in the pregnancy.
4. I am not keeping as good of tabs on this baby. Poor second child not as well documented as the first. I need to work on this.
5. Didn't feel the urge to tell everyone all as soon as possible. We took our time in doling out the news. It didn't seem as urgent to tell.
6. Not freaking out about the sex. I was on pins and needles, checking chinese calendars and paying attention to old wives tales to tell the sex on the first, on this one.... not so much.
7. Don't care about if I am showing or not. I was obsessed about when I had to wear pregnancy pants and if I felt like I was showing too soon. This time, bring on the pants! They are so much more comfortable.
8. Not as worried about telling people I am pregnant and then them thinking about how I got pregnant... wink. wink. Come on people I am married. What do you expect.
9. Was so sick within the first trimester with this child that I puked in a Walgreens parking lot and then sat through my brothers and husband laughing as we watched someone walk through my puke.
10. Enjoying myself so much more. I think I felt the baby already just a little flutter and am delighted with being relaxed and happy.

There you go second baby. Daddy and I are thrilled you are on the way and can't wait to see how our family changes with you. We can't imagine how much more our hearts will grow with you. My heart already feels so full.

Steps

So tonight... Noah took his first steps. Yep.
Dave and I were encouraging him and then 2 almost 3 steps towards me.
It was thrilling.
I mean. . . I was so proud. My heart almost burst in excitement.
It was like I had won the lottery.
Ok... maybe not the lottery, but won a great prize.
I love being a mommy.

Chipmunk

Noah packs his cheeks and then slowly eats the food. By slowly I mean when we put him to bed he will pull whatever food he has left and give it to you. Kind of like a cow.
Tonight, he stuffed his cheeks with crackers and then tried to wash them down with water.
Yeah, that didn't go so well, we had to scoop them out of his mouth so he wouldn't choke. Here is a picture pre-water incident.
My son. The food stasher.

"...And then you totally redeem yourself"

Last night was awful. Noah woke up screaming at 12:20 and then 10 minutes later fell back asleep. Then at 2:30 woke up again screaming, this time not going back to sleep. Dave got up and then I had to get up because the screaming turned shrill... yes, I mean shrill. Like a horror movie and Noah was being chased. So I got up, gave him some Tylenol (people from Tylenol, I love you, by the way) and then rocked him... still screaming, just a more shocked scream this time. So then (usually I don't do this) he came into bed with Dave and I and he still was crying but calming down. He finally fell asleep at 4am. Now I recognize that some might say I am pampered that Noah has been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks but really at 3 in the morning I am just thinking, "Seriously?"
This morning Noah screamed at 5:30 when Dave was getting ready, and instead of sleeping in decided to wake up at the same time. I turned on the tv and let him watch a cartoon so I could live in slumber for a little longer. 20 minutes later... Noah leans down and gives me 2 kisses, says "mamamamama" and then smiles at me.
Yeah... You totally redeemed yourself.
