NOT ME MONDAY
I am joining Sarah in the Not me Monday. (click the button above to go to my charming kids, where the original blogs started.) I found it laugh out loud, (enough to pee a little) funny. So here is mine...
I did not spend half the day in my underwear and a t shirt because I was doing laundry.
I did not find a box of pre pregnancy pants and I did not try on every pair to find that they ALMOST all fit.
I did not eat a fun size package of M and M's after trying on said pants.
I did not make brenner (breakfast for dinner) because I was at my wits end about making dinner.
And Lastly...
I did not just put my son to bed in his onesie that had a little bit of dried spit up on it.

7 Month Letter
Noah,
Right now, both of us are sitting on the couch together and you are talking to your mechanical piano, now you are trying to lick the lights. This has been a really fun month. You are really starting to show some personality.
Like in this photo. Just kidding. You do have a very good serious face that you put on. It is especially funny when people try and make you smile and you just look at them with that face, stone cold. You are also smiling more... a lot more.
We have been spending a lot of time with Nanny lately, as great grandpa and grandma are not doing as well health wise. We like to try and keep great grandpa occupied and you would not believe how much he loves you. He will sing to you and talk to you all day. He also thinks you look like him. (I think his eyesight is not so good these days).
You are sitting up on your own and interacting with toys a lot. At your appointment this month you weighed in at 15 lbs 2 oz! You are tall and skinny, most of your pants are too big for your waist. You are not moving a whole lot yet, just a couple feet at a time when you really want something. I am ok with this, as I know that I will be running after you before long.
This last month your cousins Kaylee and Alyssa came and stayed the weekend. We had a lot of fun playing the Wii and going to the park and doing a little crafting. The girls loved watching you play on the floor, we had a great time!
Along with your happy smiles and loads of giggles, you are also starting a little game of mom vs Noah. In this case, I just want you to know I am trying to win every match. With the arching of the back and cries it has been hard to control you. I can see in the future and don't see you being a submissive baby. This isn't to say you are doing this all the time, but you are definitely forming your own opinions.
You love magazines, grabbing at them with all of your might to destruction. Have you been hanging out with Vera?
The swing at Nanny and Grandpa's has been a hit. You love the feeling of flying and you hold onto the yellow rope for dear life.
Daddy has been playing the guitar to you and expanding your horizons on music. You are intrigued by the playing. Sitting very still and watching Dad's hands move, he even lets you touch the strings to make some of your own music. I think one of your fave's is my favorite too... Daddy's rendition of Spiderman.
Eating. . . We know you are truly part of the family. There hasn't been a food that we have introduced to you that you have turned down. The funniest part is you will not take your rice cereal with water, it has to have breast milk in it. I have tried to sneak many different times, and every time you know and will refuse to eat it. So that is one that you have turned down. So far this is what you have eaten: Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Green beans, Pears, Apples, Squash, Carrots, and avocado. Oh and some prunes because of some poop issues we had. You can't get enough of the avocado, carrots and pears. I love feeding you food, you are always so excited for meal time.
This month has flown by. You are becoming quite the little man. You are giving me the sloppiest and most loveable kisses. I love every single one of them. The doctor talked to us this month at your check up about seperation anxiety, I am thinking I may get it worse than you. We are becoming quite a trio, You, me and Daddy.I love you,
Love, Mommy

Top 10 Things For the First 6 Months
Because I want to remember the essential things I loved with Noah, I am documenting my "Late Night Top Ten" first 6 months list. I am sure it will change with every child.
10. The Jumper, this thing keeps Noah occupied while I get laundry done or dinner cooked.

9. Pack N' Play. This is in our living room and we use it to change Noah in and he also likes hanging out in it.

8. Preemie Shirts. Noah weighed 6lbs when we took him home and nothing fit him except these shirts. We loved these shirts, he wore them for a month.

7. Car Mirror. It is the small things right? Well when your baby is crying bloody murder in the backseat, I love being able to see why, if anything. Also I just love seeing if he fell asleep or not.

6.Monkey Blanket. Noah loves this guy, he chews on him or just has him under his arm. He is also easy to wash, which helps because Noah has thrown up all over him a bajillion times.

5. Pacifier. I am not sure if Noah is addicted to it but it has helped many, many times when he is super tired. This is the only one he will take, believe me, I have tried all of them. Advice from Aunty Sarah is to take the pacifier that you want your baby to use to the hospital and start them from day one on them. I should have taken her advice, I find this paci, rather ugly. But whatever works.

4. Hooter Hider. When out, I generally take a bottle with me to feed Noah, but there are times when he won't take it. So out comes the hooter hider and the feeding in public doesn't turn awkward. Also for in the cry room at church.

3. Boppy. Oh boppy how do we love thee?! It is so nice to not have to kill your arm while feeding your child. The boppy has allowed me to knit while feeding Noah.

2. Swaddle Me. When your child is squirmy and will not stay in the swaddle but will wake themselves up with their wild arms attacking them. The swaddle me is amazing. I cannot sing enough praises for it. Noah is very attached to it. Now as soon as he is swaddled, he is asleep. Thanks go out to Apes, who sent me my first one. I don't know what we are going to do when Noah outgrows them.

And... All time #1 thing for Noah's first 6 months!
1. BabyWise. I don't care how controversial it is. As a parent if you are getting 6-8 hours of sleep a night when your baby is 8 weeks old and your baby is gaining weight and happy. Sign me up! Noah now does not cry when he goes down (most of the time) and ALWAYS sleeps at least 10 hours a night. Most of the time it is 11-12 hours. I would be a wreck if I didn't get a full nights sleep.

Videos of Noah
So I have videos of Noah and I have been meaning to post them. They are a little lengthy so watch if you like. Sorry about the quality, it seems I can never find the correct camera when he does stuff.
First, Noah is saying Dada. He has been saying this for a little over a month but this is the first time catching it on camera.

Next is a little muscles that he was taught by Geoff.
Lastly, this is something Noah does daily near the end of tummy time. He starts getting tired and he does this with the ottoman.

Dear Aunty Sarah
It's me, Noah. I am writing in regards to your comment on the rediculous and embarressing blog post about my bowel movements. I don't blame you for wanting to see more recent pictures of me, it seems that mom only downloads once a month. I myself, love to look in the mirror as often as possible. And I agree, who needs pictures of mom and dad when I am by far the best looking in the family. She needs to be more on top of it, especially to keep my fans, I mean my family and friends updated.

Oh it seems like just yesterday we were in Boise and Titus and I were being manhandled, err... I mean lovingly held by my dear cousins, especially Hallie. I have been trying to convince mommy to take me for a visit. I don't know if she is listening. All she does is say Maaa Maaa over and over again. You would think that is the only word she knows, I get it already, sheesh.
So here you go my wonderful Aunty Sarah, Pictures of none other than ME.

Bus Surfing
The act of attempting to ride a bus by standing in the aisle like a surfer. The goal is to stand for as long as possible without touching anything (seats, poles, people) for support. Often a competition between two people to see who can stand the longest.
''On the way home last night I was bus surfing for a full 3 minutes!''

Yikes
I think Noah is teething I had to change 4-5 poopy diapers yesterday. One of which as soon as I opened his diaper he peed on his shirt and tie at church. Yep, and I didn't have a replacement shirt with me so he sat through church with pee on his outfit. I hope his tooth comes soon, or do I? Will that make nursing painful?

Ponytail
Reasons for wearing my hair in a ponytail before having a baby:
1. You can wear it to all occasions, looking nice or sporty.
2. It keeps your hair out of your eyes.
3. It was fun to swing it back and forth while walking.
Reasons for the ponytail after having a baby:
1. So the baby can't wrench on your hair. ( it hurts so bad, how do they know how to pull it so efficiently as to bring a woman who birthed them down to her knees and begging for relief?!)
2. It is fast and easy after your 2 second shower and your 1 second teeth brushing.
3. This is the one I learned about a half hour ago. . . I did not have my hair in a ponytail. Because when your child throws up on you, the puke does not streak through half of your hair and then smells and gets all crusty.
Ahhh ponytail, we salute you.
